Temperate Grassland Climatograph (Topic 4)
Based off of this climatograph, temperate grasslands experience the most rainfall during the early summer and early spring. Temperatures are not constant and change drastically depending on the season. During the winter, they reach a low 0 degrees Celsius and during the summer they can reach 25 degrees Celsius.
These localized conditions have caused the plant life too die off annually. The top layer of the grasslands die every year and as they decay, they enrich the soil.
The low temperatures during the winter cause many wildlife such as prairie dogs to hibernate. Buffalo are able to withstand the low temperature due to their excellent insulation from their thick skin and fur.
